Communiqué ISPRS

Nous vous transmettons le dernier communiqué de l’ISPRS, qui vous permettra d’être au courant des mises à jour de son actualité :

Dear ISPRS Ordinary Member,
I hope you and your loved ones are fairing well during these trying times.
Not only the ongoing pandemic, but also the extended ISPRS term, now 2016-22, brings inevitable changes to ISPRS.

On behalf of Council, I would like to inform you that Technical Commission II President, Fabio Remondino, and Vice-President, Takashi Fuse, have stepped down from the Commission II leadership for the remainder of this period.
As much as Council regrets this, we are very pleased to inform you that SIFET, the Italian host of Commission II, together with the Japanese Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, has selected as TC President, Alper Yilmaz from Ohio State University, and Jan Dirk Wegner, from ETH Zürich, als Vice-President.
Alper and Jan are both well know ISPRS faces and Council is very grateful that they have both accepted the positions for the rest of this ISPRS term.
It is also with regret that Council informs you of changes to the Financial Commission.
Due to other commitments, Jon Mills, Chair of the Financial Commission, and Financial Commission member, Manos Baltsavias have also stepped down.
Council is very pleased that Financial Commission member George Vosselman continues on, taking over the position of Chair, and Fulvio De Rinaudo, from Politecnico di Torino (Financial Commission member 2012-16), and Petri Rönnholm, from Aalto University, Finland, have kindly accepted to fill the vacated positions for the remainder of this term.
We would also like to share with you news on the 2021 Virtual Keynote Speaker Programme.
In 2019, the ISPRS Keynote Speaker Programme was initiated to provide an opportunity for ISPRS Ordinary, Associate, and Regional Members to enhance the scientific quality of their events and to attract more participants by inviting top quality international experts to speak.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the programme has unfortunately come to a halt. Therefore, ISPRS has decided to host a monthly virtual Keynote Speech, and invites you to attend. The first Keynote Speaker is Jan Dirk Wegner, from the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich, who will talk about Deep learning for global vegetation analysis on Tuesday April 27 at 8-10 am EDT, 2-4pm CEST.
More details and the Zoom link can be found on the ISPRS home page and here.
We aim to offer interesting topics from all areas of our field and hope you will join us !
Best regards,
Lena Halounová
